Stronger communication and connection
Family and relationship counseling helps people understand patterns, communicate more effectively and respond to stress together. Services may involve parents, caregivers, couples or other important family members based on clinical need and consent.

Care is individualized. Your assessment and treatment plan determine the goals, frequency and services that are appropriate for you.

Navigate grief, separation, blended families, illness, justice involvement, recovery or other major changes.
Family counseling may be offered by secure telehealth across North Carolina when clinically appropriate, or in person where available. Participants must join from a private setting and follow consent and confidentiality requirements.
Coverage varies. Some plans cover family therapy only when it is medically necessary for an identified client’s treatment. Relationship or couples counseling without a covered diagnosis may require self-pay.

Tell intake who is seeking help, who may participate and whether there are safety or court concerns.
The clinician reviews the relationship pattern, individual needs and appropriate treatment format.
Participants practice new skills and review progress toward agreed goals.
